Working
If you are a native English speaker, or your English level is now at an intermediate level (B1) and you have completed your free 2 hour and 30 minute orientation course to learn about working life in the UK, you will then be placed directly into paid employment with one of our hospitality partners. You will find a list of our hospitality partners under The Hotel directory and The Restaurant / Bar directory below.
If you are below an intermediate level of English (B1), then before we can place you directly into paid employment, you must first improve your English skills by taking some General English language lessons. For further information please click here Learning.
All job placements will be made on a rotating basis i.e. you will be placed with the next hospitality partner in line.
You will receive a free 2 hour and 30 minute orientation course, to learn about living and working in the UK. The course will be taught over 5 lessons of 30 minutes duration each and will cover the following topics:-
- Lesson 1 – Meeting & Greeting
- Lesson 2 – Cultural Expectations
- Lesson 3 – Communication
- Lesson 4 – Emailing & Telephoning
- Lesson 5 – Rules & Regulations

Once you start paid employment, you will then follow a free hospitality training programme which will take place whilst you are at work.
You will work and be trained in different departments in the hospitality sector, for example:-
- Front Office
- Conference and Events
- Housekeeping
- Kitchen
- Food and Beverage
You will also receive training in Generic Skills for the Hospitality and Catering Sector.
A certificate will be awarded to you upon the successful completion of your training in each of the following departments:-
- Front Office
- Conference and Events
- Housekeeping
- Kitchen
- Food and Beverage
You will also receive an additional certificate in Generic Skills for the Hospitality and Catering Sector.
The supervisor / manager for each department will complete a report in English and in your first language, if this is not English. Over the course of your paid employment , you will gain valuable skills and the certificates that you receive can be added to your Hospitality Career Portfolio.
